Another letter on Monday

Hope everything is going well with you.  I have been relaxing after a hectic week of travel and family.  Wasn't really hectic, except if compared with a more typical week.

I got more road food ideas, my brother-in-law packs a terrific cooler for road keto.  We had cheese sticks, cheese chunks, jerky (be careful of the added sugars), deli ham and bacon fried perfectly and packed in paper towels inside a zip-lock type bag.  Along with the sparkling water and my coffee, it was just enough for the day, with some leftover for at the house.  I had one package of almonds from the gas station along with diet soda and coffee.  It was a terrific day of driving.  The drive back to Colorado was also good, we avoided the high winds by a day.

If you don't know, driving across the upper half of the US can be problematic.  The day prior to our first day of driving, a bunch of snow had fallen.  There were multiple areas where tracks were in the ditches from people having gone off of the roads.  There were several semi-trucks with trailers still in the ditches, along with just the camper off of a pickup.  Our timing was impeccable.

I got to see my brother and his family, my mom, and a friend of 30 years.  It was awesome.  After a couple of years of Texas Tex-Mex, the food didn't seem as spicy, but the guacamole was the best I have had.  The food was good too.  My sister and I went to restaurant that used to be our thing when we got together, the food seemed portioned in small amounts, but the memories and conversations were ample.  Some traditions have to be kept.

How are you?  Are you ready for Christmas?  I thought I was, I forgot to hit buy on Amazon though, so I am picking up a few more things this week.  I can't believe I forgot to bring presents for my sisters on my trip.  Easiest way to get them from here to there.  Next time.

I went thrift store shopping.  Man, it feels like the mother lode.  I loved the stuff we found, I like expensive clothing but hate to pay the price, especially since I still have weight to lose.  I could take the clothing to a consignment shop and make a profit!  Some of it is going into my closet, a bunch of it is going onto Poshmark and Ebay.  Yeah!

Work is getting worse.  It's like people have hit the wall and can't bear to go back.  Or they are applying for the high paid travel jobs to make money while they can.  I am unsure which it is.  Probably a combination of both. I feel like if I leave, I won't go back.  Trying to stick it out with my attitude intact.

Let me know how life is.  I have at least three, possibly six trips planned this next year.  I like traveling, but I am more of a homebody every year.

Love, C
