Meaty Monday Burgers
Beef is the best. I grew up on it, there was always a freezer full of beef, pork and chicken. Home grown. I miss that. However, it is still available and it's still the best.
I am a burger queen. I like my burgers multiple ways, I also love a plain burger patter served with onions, tomato and pickles. I have found that a burger without a bun is the perfect sized meal quite often. But I start with 5-8 ounces of beef per burger. If you want decent flavor do not get the low fat stuff, 73-80% works better for flavor. I am not on a low fat diet, I do not believe low fat is good for you in any way. I am not a nutritionist or a dietician nor do I claim to be one.
Stocking up with condiments and choices for your burgers or other unwhiches helps keep the food making easier. Even if I were not eating low-carb/keto, I do not eat gluten, so I avoid breads, even the gluten free ones. Processed foods, and flours are very processed, bother my stomach and cause inflamation that stresses my body.
Burger ideas:
Avocado, spicy mayo, chipotle sauce, jack cheese and bacon
Lettuce, tomato, onion with ketchup and mayo
Cheddar cheese, bacon, low carb barbecue sauce
Sauteed mushrooms and onions
Sauteed onions, bacon, slice of mozzarella cheese
Guacamole, pico de gallo, jack cheese, jalapeno peppers
Fried egg, cheddar, bacon, mayo
Brisket, barbecue sauce, cheddar, swiss, or jack cheese, sauteed onions
I will serve coleslaw, keto style, or a nice sized salad with this if at my home, I don't have food that will tempt me in my house. I can make things from scratch if I really need something else to go with this. I haven't tried a keto cauliflour potato salad but I plan to sometime.
