Sunday letter Vegas

Hi,

How was your week?  Have you done something fun?  Do you have something you are looking forward to?  Are you taking good care of yourself?

I had more fun than I could handle!  I had to take breaks from the events of my conference to unwind and un-people.  There was so much to take in.  All of it positive for me.

The take aways, besides the education for one,  food, it was expensive.  Expensive.  Thirty dollar breakfast without a beverage.  And  for my guy, the butter was NOT.  Margarine is not food to either of us.  That was disappointing.  The lunch at the same place wasn't much more expensive, but it was very tasty and did not disappoint us.  I am putting together another, MEATIER, article on travel food, expanding on my previous one with other options I learned about.  There was a super popular cake vending machine at Bally's.  A slice of apparently out of this world cake (think sci fi!) was $9.  I don't eat flour, nor much sugar so it wasn't an option for me, but the thread on Facebook of people stalking the machine was fun.

We did a long hike to a Target and stocked up on lunch meat, cheese, and other sandwich/unwhich items.  It was a nice walk and it saved us a lot of time and money over the course of the week.

I loved watching the fountains at the Bellagio.  We watched it as we returned from our hike.  They make the walk fairly easy with escalators, and pathways across streets so that the traffic doesn't get slowed down.  Traffic noises were the biggest annoyance for us as the buildings acted as sound funnels, making even the 10th floor noisy.  Ear plugs for the win!

While I am semi-retired now, the plan is to retire once I have a cash flow from my writing career.  Not from this blog, oh, no.  This is for fun and to give back to the world.  No I am writing fiction.  My nom de plume (name, lol) is CHVance and my plan is to be on Amazon and KDP.  Apparently I can go wide, which means publishing on Kobo, Apple, Barnes and Nobles, etc., as long as the wide books are paperback or hard cover only.  Therefore I will be going to produce those too.  The things I learned!

Writing is something I love to do.  I have always loved writing letters to my friends and family when letter writing was so much easier than expensive long distance.  Now there is no such thing as long distance with my cell phone, at least in country.  I don't have anyone outside of the U.S. that I call, is it long distance to call?  Let me know.

I also want this out there so I don't have to depend on social media to always be there.  We have learned it doesn't always work that way.  Plus, the sites are into blocking people if an unpopular opinion (to that site) is published.  I don't like being shushed.  Never have.

Bye for now, Colleen
